The pool in our 'burb is open and all the kids are having a blast - if their shrieks and splashes are any indication. The weather is rising, the dogs are lounging in the shade, and the sweet smell of cut grass is perfuming the air.
Have you planned your summer vacation(s) yet? Mine tend to be more spur-of-the-moment...
Most people I know think of beaches, drink umbrellas, and tanning in the sand until they are a golden brown. Or lounging on a cruise ship deck.
A few take overseas holidays or go camping.
My summers are usually a random combination of country + city pleasures... after all, gloriously warm, summer weather only comes around one season a year and I don't want to miss anything.
In the city, long days are filled with museums, window shopping, and salad wedges at an umbrella-shaded sidewalk cafe. In the country, it's boating on the lake, fresh vegetables from the garden, and outdoor movie theaters. And there is usually plenty of grilling involved!
So, tell me, what part of summer do you love? Do you spend your days at the beach or in the mountains? Are you art-gazing + cafe-hopping in gladiator sandals and Panama hats? Or catching fireflies in mason jars + hosting barbeque-tasting parties in pretty sundresses and cocktail rings?
